Avon Speed Dry + Nail Polish

I'm always adding to my nail polish collection and I keep looking for some brighter colours for the summer. I've been buying Avon products for many years and their nail polishes never let me down. They have such a huge range of colours out there at the moment and these are just two of many.

Speed Dry + is a relatively new range from Avon, aimed at a quick drying time of 30 seconds. This is always an instant appeal to me as I'm so impatient and the waiting around for them to dry drives me mad and I usually end up having to redo at least one nail because I end up smudging them. Although I didn't time exactly now long it took to dry, I know it was pretty quick and it took me a lot less time to do two coats and a clear top coat then it usually would.

I've got so many pink polishes that I tried to steer away from them this time and it took me a while to decide from all the different choices, but in the end I went for Sprightly Mint and Swift Sherbet and I'm so pleased I picked them. They're lovely summer shades and not to bright and in your face. They go on so easily with just the right consistency, as I really hate when polishes are thin and need a few coats; with this two is perfect. What I like most about Avon polishes is that they don't tend to dry up like most of the polishes I have and they are quite long lasting on the nails as well. They also glide on so easily with a decent sized brush, so painting time is much faster.

These will most certainly be my go to colours this summer and no doubt I will be buying a few more. Speed Dry + costs £6 and is available online and in there catalogue and they are currently on offer at half price online.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Lately I've been finding that my skin has been getting quite dry and I'm blaming the prolonged winter we had as the reason. I decided that something needed to be done and as I've heard so many good things about Liz Earle products that I thought I'd give a couple of them a try. It just so happens that they were doing free delivery for 24 hours so I leapt at the chance and bought their Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.

When my package arrived I was slightly confused with all the products I had, until I realised they had also sent me another Cleanse and Polish as a complimentary gift. I also received at book that lists all of their products, a description of each and prices (slightly winning me over already).

".......swiftly removes all traces of daily grime and make up, while gently lifting away dead skin cells to reveal smooth, soft, radiant skin".

This is what Cleanse and Polish claims to do by using a two phase system. Phase 1, Cleansing the skin by massaging the cream onto your face and neck and Phase 2, Polishing by rinsing the muslin cloth under hot water and polishing off the cream. You only need a small amount of cream (as shown below) to cover your your face and neck, so hopefully it lasts a while.

I have been using Cleanse and Polish for a week now, morning and night and I can honestly say I've noticed a difference. It has left my skin smooth, soft, definitely less dry and a bit brighter. The only downside I found was that it says it removes stubborn mascara, and for me that wasn't the case. It did remove it to an extent, but not completely, so I would have to use an additional makeup remover for my eyes. The muslim cloth cleans up surprisingly well too, so I don't think you would have to buy replacements that often as you could just put it in the washing machine.
I have very sensitive skin so I'm always a bit apprehensive when I buy new products, but this has caused me no irritation whatsoever so I'm really happy with it.

I ordered the 50ml starter kit which includes a muslin cloth for £9.25, but it comes in a variety of sizes, including smaller ones if you just want a sample to try.
I will most definitely be using this as part of my skin routine from now on!

I have also been using their Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask once a week to give my skin an extra boost and together these products have definitely helped to improve the appearance of my skin.
All products are available on their website.

Are you a fan of any Liz Earle products?

Look Beauty Nail Pop and Lipstick

Lipstick in Berry Vamp

I was never really into lipsticks that much I was always a gloss person, but this past year I have got a real liking for them and now I'm always on the hunt for new ones. I noticed a half price sign in Superdrug and was straight away drawn as I love a good bargain and found this lipstick by Look Beauty. I had never bought any of their products before but I heard good reviews so I thought I'd try it seeing as it was on offer and I ended up getting two lipsticks in shades Rock Candy and Cherry bomb, but they had sold out of Berry Vamp which I also wanted, so I was very happy when I finally managed to get hold of it. Berry Vamp is very much a winter colour but I think with the right outfit, it can be worn all year round. It's not a shade I would normally go for but I wanted to try something different. When I first put it on I wasn't sure, but as the day went on it grew on me and I'm glad I bought it.

I have to say these lipsticks are such good quality and have really good staying power and lasts on your lips for a very long time. I found it glides on easily and leaves a smooth finish and one coat is even enough, but two insures long lasting coverage. It costs £7 which is pretty average for a lipstick and it is definitely well worth the money. Look Beauty seems to be having offers on all the time so keep at eye out; they recently they had 3 for 2 on all of their range.

Nail pop in Ribbon

I love finding new nail polishes and have grown quite a collection; my mum says I have an obsession, I just say I like to have choices. My friend bought one of their nails polishes and said how good they are so I had to try for myself. As the weather seems to be changing for the better (one can only hope) I was looking for some summer colours and was drawn to this shade, Ribbon. It’s a lovely pink shade with a hint of coral in it and definitely gives that spring feeling, even if the weather doesn’t.

My pet hate is that my nails chip quite quickly no matter what I do and I find myself retouching quite a bit, but I must say I am pretty impressed with this product. It’s been a few days since I painted them and they are almost still intact with only a slight few chips! Nail pop costs £5 and is available on the Look Beauty website and in Superdrug stores. I will definitely be buying some more shades to add to my ever-growing collection.

My First Blog!

Hi

My names Georgia and I’m 23 from South London. I’ve been thinking about doing a blog for what feels like forever, but for some reason I’ve been scared to do it and kept putting it off. But I’ve decided to stop being a chicken and just go for it. This is all new to me so I don’t really no what I’m doing to be honest, so any comments (useful ones) as to how I can improve it or any ideas of reviews please let me know, it will be much appreciated.

A little bit about me…

I currently work with children with behaviour issues and its something that I really enjoy doing. It can be very challenging and emotional at times, but it is also very rewarding. Outside of this, I have a real passion for makeup and anything beauty related and have always liked trying new things on the market (I’m a sucker for a fancy ad). My mum always told me “good things come in small packages”, which I think is true in most cases and I like finding new little things either for my room or makeup box. This is kind of how the name came of my blog came about really. I’m planning to do a makeup course later this year as this is something I would really like to do on the side of my day job, so I’m often practising different looks so I’ll probably post some on here too.

Being a person who always has something to say about everything, I thought I might as well right it down and share it with people. I’m not quite sure exactly what I’m going to put on here, I’m just going to go with the flow! I hope you enjoy!

xoxo
